Germans test leading to recognized language certificates for "German as a foreign language" are an important step to make the best use of language skills for university study or in the professional world. The most widely recognized language certificates are issued by the Goethe-Institut and, as prerequisite for a study at a German university, TestDaF. The several language tests are delimited according to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR), from A1 for beginners to C2 for the highest linguistic level.

Note: The previous language certificates of the Goethe-Institut Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom (GDS), Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (KDS), Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung (ZMP), Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP) und Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf (ZdfB) were replaced by the above Goethe examinations.

For efficient and successful exam preparation, we recommend either a German course on campus in Bamberg, which consists of group lessons in the morning and flexible additional individual lessons in the afternoon with 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 private lessons per week. Or, for those who may not have the time for any full-time classroom teaching, there is the possibility of online exam preparation as online German course.
